Vintage “Wanted” poster styled graphic featuring Charlotte Independence striker Souaibou Marou labeled “Public Enemy No. 1” and “Enemy of the 914th,” referencing his infamous hat trick against Westchester SC, with the caption “Notorious Hat Trick Villain” and the message “Report all sightings to the 914th Infantry.”

There are matches in a season.

And then there are moments.

This weekend at Memorial Field, we get both.

Charlotte Independence returns to Mount Vernon, and with them comes the man who turned our historic first home league match into a nightmare: Souaibou Marou.

You remember.

Westchester SC had the dream start that night in May of 2025. Conor McGlynn opened the scoring. JC Obregón buried a penalty. Two goals up. The crowd buzzing. Memorial Field rocking for the first USL League One match in club history.

For forty-five minutes it felt like the start of something magical.

Then Marou stepped onto the pitch.

The Charlotte striker came on at halftime and delivered a performance that still echoes around Mount Vernon. One goal to spark the comeback. Another to level the match. And finally, in the 89th minute, a towering header to complete the first substitute hat trick in USL League One history.

Three goals.

Three points stolen.

Three daggers to the heart.

Charlotte Independence players celebrate and gesture toward the crowd after scoring a late goal against Westchester SC at Memorial Field.

And as if the hat trick wasn’t enough, Marou made sure to celebrate it right in front of the 914th Infantry.

Right in our house.

That moment has been sitting in the memory banks ever since.

Good.

Because football needs villains.

And this weekend, the villain returns.

A Different Westchester SC

Last year was about learning.

New league. New players. New systems. Hard lessons. Sometimes brutal ones.

Charlotte delivered one of the harshest.

But 2026 is a different story. New pieces. New ideas. Despite a loss to the defending champs in the opener, this squad already looks sharper, hungrier, and far more comfortable in this league.

Which means this match isn’t just another game on the schedule.

It’s unfinished business.

A Prince Returns Home

Westchester SC player in blue and gold kit sprints down the right side of the field chasing the ball during a match at Memorial Field, with opposing players trailing behind and supporters visible in the background.

While one Charlotte player will hear the boos, another should hear nothing but respect.

Prince Saydee returns to Mount Vernon this weekend for the first time as an opponent.

Saydee was one of the early faces of Westchester SC, a player who helped build the identity of the club during its first chapter. Football takes players all over the map and sometimes that means returning to familiar ground wearing the wrong colors.

But the memories remain.

The 914th should give him the welcome he earned.

A proper reception. A moment of appreciation.

And then once the whistle blows…

He’s the enemy too.

A Call to Arms

914th Infantry, this one is for you.

Last year Marou celebrated in our faces. He silenced our section and turned our historic night into a Charlotte highlight reel.

That cannot be the story again.

Memorial Field needs to be loud. Relentless. Uncomfortable.

Every Charlotte touch should feel like pressure. Every Marou moment should be met with noise that rattles the rafters.

Let him know exactly where he is.

Let Charlotte know exactly who we are.

Because football memory is long.

And sometimes the best revenge is ninety minutes of organized chaos.

Saturday Night in Mount Vernon

The villain returns.

A familiar friend comes home.

And a club that learned the hard way last year gets another chance to write the ending.

Charlotte may remember their comeback.

But this time, Westchester is ready.

914th Infantry… it’s time.
