Preseason football is back in Westchester. If today’s friendly was any indication, the buzz around this squad is very real.

Westchester SC kicked off the 2026 preseason with a convincing Red Bull NY II. The new boys wasted no time making themselves known. Daniel Burko, fresh into the side, announced himself with a brace. He showed exactly why there’s been quiet excitement around his arrival. Fellow debutant Kyle Evans added a goal as well. This capped off a composed and confident performance that felt far more like midseason than early February.

The Importance of Preseason Performances

Yes, it’s preseason.

Yes, it’s a friendly.

But performances like that matter.

What stood out most wasn’t just the scoreline. It was the intent. There was sharp movement and energy across the pitch. This group understands what they’re building toward. This is a team that looks hungry. This is a team that believes.

And if the names are starting to sound familiar, that’s no accident.

Wear the Moment: Celebrate Westchester SC's New Arrivals

To mark the start of the campaign and celebrate the players already making noise, the 914th Infantry dropped a new fundraising shirt. It says exactly what we’re all thinking:

Chazza & Tim-Tim & Burko & Miggy & Matty & Max.

We Got Next in ’26.

It’s simple and bold. It’s for the supporters who were here early and those ready to back what’s coming next.

Every shirt sold helps fund supporter initiatives, displays, and matchday efforts throughout the season. More importantly, it’s a way to wear your belief in this squad before the rest of the league catches on.

The Road Ahead: What to Expect This Season

Preseason has only just begun, but the message is already clear. Westchester isn’t waiting its turn. We got next.

As the season progresses, fans can expect more exciting performances like this one. The chemistry among players is building. New arrivals are integrating well, and the coaching staff is instilling a winning mentality.

This season promises to be thrilling. The squad is not just looking to compete but to dominate. Each match will be an opportunity to showcase their skills and determination.

For the County!
