The Portland Hearts Of Pine Have Signed Josh Drack
Some moves hit a little different.
Josh Drack has gone north, joining Portland Hearts of Pine, and with that, one of the more memorable pieces of Westchester SC’s inaugural season moves on.
In a year that had its share of growing pains, there weren’t a ton of bright spots. Juan Carlos Obregón Jr. bringing home the Golden Boot was one of them.
Josh Drack was another.
Whether it was the energy, the effort, or just the presence he brought down that left side, he became a fan favorite quickly. And then there was the look.
The frosted blonde hair he sported earlier in the season didn’t hurt.
“Nachito” stuck almost immediately. A nod to Alejandro Garnacho and the similarities in style and swagger, even if ours came with a little more Westchester grit to it.
It fit.
And more importantly, he did.
A Changing Role
If this move feels sudden, it really isn’t.
With the new signings coming in for 2026, minutes have been harder to come by. That’s the reality of a club trying to take a step forward. Competition increases, roles change, and not everyone ends up on the right side of it.
For Drack, the opportunities just weren’t there under George Gjokaj the way they once were under Dave Carton.
And for a player who plays with his kind of energy, sitting isn’t really an option.
So you go find your game.
A Rival, But Still One of Ours
Of course, it had to be Portland.
Not just a move, but a move to a rival.
Speaking to the Hearts of Pine staff, Drack said of Portland:
“It was so fun. You don’t see that everywhere in this league. The whole experience felt like real professional soccer. I’m just really excited to be on this side of it now.”
That part won’t sit great with everyone. It never does. But that’s football. Careers move fast, and sometimes they take turns you don’t love.
From Portland’s side, they’re getting exactly what you’d expect. A high-energy, hard-working player who fits their style and will buy into what they’re building.
We’ve seen it.
Now they will too.
One of the Good Ones

There are players who pass through.
And then there are players people remember.
Josh Drack falls into the second group.
Not just for what he did on the field, but for how he carried himself while doing it. Effort was never a question. Commitment was never a question.
You knew what you were getting every time he stepped out there.
And that matters.
From the 914th
The 914th Infantry wishes Josh nothing but the best in Portland.
We’ll remember the runs, the energy, and yeah… the hair.
Even if we won’t be rooting for him quite the same way when he lines up against us.
That’s just how it goes.
